About
Wilko (Tom Wilkinson) is a progressive house and trance DJ from London, England. He started DJing in early 2010 whilst studying at the University of Greenwich and has been hooked ever since. As such a young and fresh DJ his biggest gigs have only been to crowds of 100 or so at parties or raves, however on a number of occasions his style has been recognised by Student Union workers and he has been invited to DJ in his Student Union infront of crowds up to 600. His dream is to play Ministry of Sound and compares that to the likes of a footballer playing at Wembley, and dreams of one day headlining Energy, the World Cup of dance music. His inspiration for DJing came from fellow rising DJ and best friend Alex Brinkhurst, who DJs the same genres in a similar way. His passion for the music made Wilkinson realise there was more to dance music than he saw on the surface as a teenage rock fan.
Style
Progressive house and trance. Lots of melody, lots of breakdowns and drops and lots of momentum. His favourite DJs are Sander van Doorn, Armin van Buuren, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Deadmau5, Cosmic Gate, Stoneface & Terminal, Rank1, Mat Zo, Gareth Emery, Funkagenda and Manuel De La Mare... to name a few. He believes Mark Knight is the most underated DJ in the world and deserves top 10 status, and believes that despite what people have to say about Buuren and other high profile DJs, Chris Lake is the best producer in the world, since Tiesto was producing trance.
