The first time that I picked up DJing was when I was about 19 years old. Back then I was "mixing" with just a mouse and my laptop speakers. Then I started DJ'n at house parties in my county with just that mouse. You know how they say practice makes perfect? Well, my mixing was the furthest thing from perfect at first. But I kept practicing.
From there, like a true wannabe DJ, I picked up my first mixer. The Hercules RMX. I was still, at the time, having so much trouble getting the songs to mix correctly. But tenacity has always been one of my stronger suits so I kept at it. For the next year I kept at it, DJing from home to friends and family through local streams and free shoutcast servers. That was until I became a virtualDJ Radio DJ. From that point, I listened and learn from my fellow DJ's, grasping skills that I never had before and applying them to my live mixes. From January 2011 and several months after that, I was streaming online and making mistakes here and there. The radio has listeners all over the world, so trust that my tenacity came in handy when I saw listeners start dropping from my live shows.
Even though all I knew was basic skills like song transitions and beat locks I still kept at it and it brought me to where I am today.
All of this is only the beginning, though. I'm only twenty but I've got the ambition of a grown man. Keep an eye out for me.
